This is a specialist hospital and home for people with brain damage and other neurological disorders serving a national catchment area.  It offers services for 240 adults aged 18+ with acquired brain damage and other neurological disorders.  Services include:

  • Assessment

  • Rehabilitation

  • Disability management

  • Long term care

  • Discharge planning

  • Respite care

  • Technology assessment

Expertise

 

Professionals representing seventeen clinical specialities work within the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary frameworks.

 

Fundraising

 

Although fees paid by statutory bodies cover basic patient care, as a charity the Royal Hospital provides a wide range of extra services and facilities. 

 

Social and Recreational Activities

 

The hospital provides a wide range of activities for patients and residents, including music appreciation, literature and art and poetry.  A specialist department also provides outings to shopping centres, the theatre and sporting events, and transport is available for visits home and into the community.
