LENTEN PROJECT 2007 KINGSTON STREET PASTORS Help and Safety
This year the money we raise in our Lenten Project will be donated to "Kingston Street Pastors". This initiative first began in Kingston, Jamaica, where churches banded together to express in action on the streets their Christian values. The work is coordinated by Kingston United Reformed Church and Local Youth work Charity ‘Oxygen’ where volunteers go out onto the streets of Kingston town centre from 10.00 pm until 4.00 am on a Friday and Saturday night. They care directly for those in distress, listening to the most vulnerable at night who feel isolated and are at risk or simply lost. There are about forty volunteers at the moment. Money is needed to provide volunteers with professional training, to provide direct help to those on the streets and to cover administrative expenses. We thank the "Kingston Street Pastors" representatives who helped us launch our Lenten Project at our Sunday Masses.
If anyone would like to subscribe to their e-newletter or e-prayerletter please email Paul Jacobs on: mail@jacobsfamily.uk.com or visit their website at Kingston United Reformed Church For postal requests please leave your name and address in the St. Raphael Church sacristy for Charmaine Lee who will forward your details. I found a large gilt-framed mirror, a pair of fire dogs and two fine china cats that I have photographed to sell on eBay. All money raised will be donated to our Lenten project.
What really sells well? Things like old boxed toys, games and models (railways, etc) in mint or very good condition and original packaging. Also fine china, pictures, jewellery, old photos in albums, old postcards, rare or out-of-print books, etc. To discuss further please contact me
