INFLUENCE LEGISLATION THAT CAN DAMAGE THE FAMILY

Some of the laws passed by our Parliament sometimes have an adverse effect on the family, but seem to go through with minimal public opposition.  We almost sleep walk through these changes.  A good example is allowing the morning-after-pill to girls under 16 years old.  There are other examples.  We shall mention here legislative proposals which have the potential to damage the family to keep you informed and help you decide what sort of protest action might be necessary.

Expressing your view is important and will make a difference.

Assisted Dying for the Terminally Ill Bill

If this Bill succeeds it means that a mentally competent patient with ‘unrelieved suffering’ can receive a

lethal injection or medication to die at their own request.

 If such legislation goes ahead it will impose a duty on doctors to carry out euthanasia and could open up a

system of legalised killing that could be seriously open to abuse,

as well as undermining the benefits of hospice care.

Please write to oppose this Bill to any of the below mentioned committee members who are considering the

Assisted Dying for the Terminally Ill Bill at:

The House of Lords, London, SW1A OPW

 The following Lords are named members of the

Select Committee on the Bill:

E. Arran; L. Carlile of Berriew; B. Finlay of Llandaff; B. Hayman;

B. Jay of Paddington; L. Joffe; L. McColl of Dulwich; L. Mackay of Clashfern (Chairman); L. Patel Bp. St Albans; L. Taverne; B. Thomas of Walliswood; L. Turnberg.
